September 28, 201312 yr I planned to go Bkk and asked my secr to book for me from friday04oct plus 50 days... i planned to go consulate to get my 60days visa..(need 3 days).. she did so but i found out that she misunderstood me and booked from tuesday02.... i have not the time to process the visa (i wille go ambassy to explain and try to get a express service, but... i am afraid they will not make an excempt) what can i do... and what are the risks?? 1. do i get through checkin ... lacking the visa and not have a return flight within 30days (tourist on arrival-visa) 2. do i get through customs (leaving from Dusseldorf Germany) 3. do i get through customs in Bkk on arrival, and will the grant me a on arrival visa 30 days? I could explain that i plan to go abroad (Cambodja or Laos) at the end of the 30days period and come back, and get a new 30 days on arrival (by plane) 4. if i am able to arrive in Bkk i guess i can extend my visa for another 30 days or so at immigration... can i ???? please give some advise on this ..
September 28, 201312 yr If you arrive in Bangkok you will receive a 30 day visa exempt entry. This cannot be extended except by 7 days immigration will permit you in which to leave. If you wish to stay longer a tourist visa can be obtained from a nearby country.
September 28, 201312 yr 1. This where you could have problem. Airline can refuse boarding if you do not have a ticket out of the country within 3O days. I suggest you get a ticket on a low cost carrier to any nearby country. You could get round trip for same day to get another 30 day visa exempt entry because the answer to 4 is no. The longest extension you can get is 7 days. 2/3 no problem they don't check. Check Air Asia for fights to a nearby country. Malaysia is a good choice because it is a free entry. September 28, 201312 yr The only issue will be check-in for flight - if they stop you (go early) you can always buy an onward flight to anywhere that allows you entry without a visa in passport (or better still a flight to Cambodia or Laos that you can use for your trip there).
September 28, 201312 yr Author anyway... without visa60days i have to leave country to allow a longer stay than 30 days... is that right.. there is no alternative (beside overstay )
September 28, 201312 yr There is no other way. You could make 2 trips to a border getting 15 days each time.
September 28, 201312 yr Author ok... clear answers... thanks a lot... can i do a one day returnflight to kuala lumpur? just walk out and walk in again ? no cost besides ticket?
September 28, 201312 yr if you fly in you will get 30 days walk in 15 without visa. You could also get a visa in KL if you wanted but this will take 2 days....and have to make sure not a thai or malasian holiday when the consolate will be closed. Edited September 28, 201312 yr by harrry
September 28, 201312 yr Do not make problem bigger than it in reality. Buy BKK - KL return flight same day from 27 to 29-th day of your stay (check better option, full price can be about 80 EUR only if you lucky). There is no questions about it, you have a meeting in KL this is normal no one ask you why you return same day. Then you will have another 30 days. So, you will have ticket to BKK, then BKK-KL, then ticket out of BKK, no questions from airlines.
September 28, 201312 yr ok... clear answers... thanks a lot... can i do a one day returnflight to kuala lumpur? just walk out and walk in again ? no cost besides ticket? Yes you can do that, Fly out to Kuala Lumpur Air Asia or Singapore often even cheaper with TIGER Airways or JETSTAR Airways and come back the same day, with another flight. No problem, no costs, except for the flight. Check also, www.kayak.de www.skyscanner.com Edited September 28, 201312 yr by ALFREDO
September 28, 201312 yr as above get a return air ticket within 30 days of your arrival, get another 30 visa exempt entry on arrival back in thailand sack the secretary on your return to germany just kidding
September 29, 201312 yr There is no other way. You could make 2 trips to a border getting 15 days each time. "but i found out that she misunderstood me and booked from tuesday02" Wouldn't it be easier to call the airline and change your departure date and wait for the tourist visa. Even if there is a charge for changing the ticket, would it not be less hassle and expense that having to leave and re-enter Thailand and getting a tourist visa in a neighboring country?
