Time of year will have an impact on this. When are you planning this?

One on my radar is Burma. Another is Palawan...mainly for diving. Sri Lanka and Kerala sound interesting...the Maldives look fantastic.

We loved S. Korea and plan to go back to explore some other places.

How about China? Many interesting places there.

As for Thailand, have you been to the the islands south of Koh Lanta?

You have been to Tokyo, but Japan has many places to visit. If I had more money, i would spen more time there. Great food also!

There is a newly discovered cave in Vietnam. Massive. Can't remember the name but its on my list.

Borobudur -- UNESCO World Heritage site, Central Java, Indonesia

Take a look at Bhutan. It's expensive to visit - around $250/person/day - but that covers guides/hotels/vehicle and most other costs. No first hand knowledge but plenty of information out there. It's in my plans but Burma/skiing in India/Sri Lanka already lined up.

Kerala, India. Off the beaten path..

Kota Kinabalu

Beautiful;

I once spent 3 days in the Mammoth cave in Kentuckly, and did some cave diving in the Bahamas,

quite an experience but not for everyone.

Good topic!

I would like something similar. Interested in Vietnam. Bit of city and bit of beach or something scenic would be nice.

Kerala, India. Off the beaten path..

Kerala is a good spot. Yes it's India but this is the state with the highest education levels in the land. It's the south west corner with beaches/excellent seafood/history/wild life/western ghats/houseboats and plenty else.

Hi, have you been to any islands off the coast of Sabah (Borneo)? you may want to consider where there are nice beaches and plenty of diving opportunities around the coast.

This is a link to the photo for one of the islands called Bohey Dulang Island, very secluded and not many people know about this island...
