Ed Visa Extension - First 3 months up soon

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm currently staying in Chiang Mai and I'm on a multiple entry Ed Visa. The first 3 months of which is due to expire on 27th Oct and I want to activate the next 3 months

Could anyone tell me if I need to go to immigration near the airport in CM for an extension or if I would need to do a Visa run... Laos being the closest?

Any advice much appreciated.

Sorry I meant... can I extend first before doing a visa run? Or would I do the visa run some time in the week running to the 27th Oct (as it's a Saturday)

Unless you have paperwork from school with attendance and such for extension from immigration (at 1,900 baht fee) you would have to exit country to obtain a new 90 day entry. You are sure your visa says "multi" on number of entries? Ask because most people have a single entry and then extend stay for either 90 days up to a year depending on school/study. You would have to exit on the 27th or earlier if using a multi entry visa (that would not be an extension but a new entry of 90 days).

Yes, it's definitely the multiple entry one. In hindsight I should have probably just taken the single entry option as my course finishes before the first 90 days is up anyway. Thanks for clarifying, I will get a visa run sorted out

Can you tell at which consulate you were issued a multi-entry ED Visa ?
