15-day entry stamp, 7 day extension?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Taiwanese friend who only got a 15 day entry stamp upon arrival by air. He didn't know he wouldn't get 30 like "everybody else". Can he get a 7 day extension at an immigration office? Can he do it anytime or will he have to wait until, like, his 14th day or something? Is it 1900 baht like all extensions?

Thanks a lot, did a forum search but didn't find any good answers :)

His is not allowed visa exempt entry (which is not everybody else by any means) but was allowed a visa on arrival of 15 days (which very few countries are allowed to obtain). So he can make an exit and return for another 15 visa on arrival entry (paying attention that not all entry/exits points can issue) or he can get a 7 day non approval of extension for the normal 1,900 baht fee which allows 7 days to depart. I would not do early myself but most reports are that it can be done early these days without losing time.

Thanks. In other words, he can extend his stay with 7 days if he visits an immigration office and will need to pay 1,900 baht. Good to know - he'll need to do a bit of travel to get to the immigration office so it'd be a waste of time and money if it didn't work out. Thanks wai2.gif
