Crime Illegal Nightclub Raided in Kamphaeng Saen: Underage Patrons, Loaded Firearm & Drugs Found
Picture courtesy of Department of Provincial Administration, Nakhon Pathom Authorities have shut down an illegal nightclub operating without a licence in Kamphaeng Saen district, Nakhon Pathom, after a dramatic late night raid uncovered a range of serious offences, including the presence of underage patrons, illegal drugs and a loaded firearm. In the early hours of 1 June, at around 01:00, a special operations unit from the Department of Provincial Administration launched a sting operation dubbed “Operation Crush Kamphaeng Saen”. Acting on intelligence provided by undercover officers, the team stormed a popular, unlicensed nightlife venue located in front of a well-known university in the district. Inside, authorities found more than 120 revellers partying in full swing. Chaos erupted when officials revealed themselves, with many partygoers attempting to flee by pushing through the security cordon. Upon conducting a thorough search, the venue was confirmed to be operating without a licence. Officials also discovered several individuals under the age of 20 inside the premises, in direct violation of the law. One of the patrons was found to be just 17 years old. A urine test on the minor returned a positive result for drug use, turning purple, a clear indicator of substance abuse. Numerous others also tested positive. In addition, officers seized a loaded firearm brought into the venue by a patron, along with a quantity of illegal drugs including ecstasy and ketamine, scattered throughout the premises and seemingly prepared for distribution or consumption. The Governor of Nakhon Pathom has since ordered the venue to be shut down for a period of five years under the strict powers granted by public safety legislation. Authorities have confirmed that those found with positive drug results will be referred to rehabilitation programmes and legal proceedings against the venue’s operators are underway.
