Non genuine iphone chargers don't work with io7

Featured Replies

I'm experiencing problems with non genuine I phone charger leads charging my iPhone since updating to io7. Is any other ppl experiencing this? I have attached a photo of the display msgpost-157316-13811567563015_thumb.jpg

It's all part of Apple's customer service to protect you.

Just pop down to the local Apple store where you can pick up a genuine charger for only a few thousand Baht.

That's the only way you're going to get it charged.

I read something about Apple embedding chips into the chargers so they can get rid of the cheap charger market completely as only real ones will work.

I have a Samsung phone but when I read that...I really want an iPhone.

All new lightning connectors have a chip embedded. Hence why can be plugged in either way chip recognizes which way is up ;) Fake=No Chip=Won't charge or sync etc etc

copy phones = bad.

compatible chargers = good.

I hold the opinion that a charger is too simple a technology to be protectable by a patent.

I guess Apple knows this and put the chips in to milk their customers senseless on a piece of harware that costs 2 USD to make.

It's as dishonest as it gets.

Imagine your computer would only work with Microsoft CD, DVD, and only with Internet Explorer and only with a Microsoft-Approved internet access? Of course each of these would cost 50% more than the normal price...

Microsoft has been forced by court rulings to separate Internet Explorer from Windows.

A charger is not integral part of a phone.

Apple's practice makes competition impossible and puts consumers at severe disadvantage. It's unfair competition and racket at the same time.

Actually with the new way apple is signing there software something had to be done. Is a data cable as well all copy stuff dosent carry the right voltage and is amplified when trying to run data down it. But I see ya point and are right but at end of day ppl will buy like they always do ;)
