webfact Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 INTERNAL SECURITY ACTISA invoked in three Bangkok districtsBANGKOK: -- The government invokes the Internal Security Act in three Bangkok districts as a precaution to ensure peace around Government House, Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok said on Wednesday.Pracha was speaking ahead of an urgent meeting of relevant ministers to endorse the security enforcement in Bangkok’s Dusit, Pomprap Sattru Phai and Phra Nakhon. The enforcement would be enforced from today to October 18.He said he had already informed Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra who is attending Apec Summit in Bali, Brunei. The government’s decision came after talks had failed to convince protesters to evacuate their rally site ahead of the Friday’s visit of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.National Security Council Secretary-General Paradorn Pattanathabutr admitted that the decision to enforce the ISA in Bangkok had something to do with a warning by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra that there would be a conspiracy to topple the government in October.Paradorn said the security agencies had assessed the situation and believed that the government opponents would prolong their protests.-- The Nation 2013-10-09

Cos the only thing that concerns the Shins is their control of the power and the money that that power can make them. Floods? A minor inconvenience . . . for someone else. 7

intravox Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Here is an idiot of the worst kind who thinks he can hold back the hordes who want to bring his little party game to an end by cordoning off head office! Only in a country like Thailand could you pull this kind of stunt off - running a nation's affairs from a Dubai hotel room via Skype and LINE. But only a very foolish person would imagine that this travesty could continue without the people of Thailand eventually tumbling to his fraud. Can you imagine that nearly every leader in the world knows that this egomaniac is pulling this off and knowing that they therefore can never take this country seriously again. China of course will be rubbing her hands as it has found a major SE Asian hub it can finance (2 trillion Baht loan anyone?) and make its own. Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia - yes Mr Thaksin you are doing a great job in the pocket of your masters. 2

h90 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Bangkok only Bangkok, while the rest of Thailand will inundate under water again within the next two weeks That flood is an opportunity, not a problem for the Shinawattras. They don't get wet, just some poor farmers, nothing that they can't fix with 500 Baht before the next election. If they get poorer buying votes might even get cheaper. While demonstrations against corruption, even if it is just 100 people is a much more serious matter.

Popular Post a99az Posted October 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted October 9, 2013 Don't you just love the freedom. Just as long as it runs along the same lines as the incumbent government regime. On a good note we just got our Family Permit for the UK today and look forward to some sort of law and order. The kids can study for real qualifications, and we can all visit Thailand for holidays and enjoy it for what it is, a great place to relax knowing that we are all tourists who can always go to another place if it loses it charm . 4
webfact Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Anti-Govt Protests To Stay During Chinese Premier's VisitBy Khaosod OnlineBANGKOK: -- The protesters who are rallying against Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at Government House in Bangkok say they would not clear the ground for the upcoming visit of Premier of the People′s Republic of China.Li Keqiang is scheduled to visit Bangkok from 11-13 October. The Premier is also expected to meet with Ms. Yingluck at Government House, where thousands of riot police officers are posted to keep close watch on the much fewer anti-government protesters who are camping just outside the compound.Calling themselves People′s Force of Democracy to Overthrow Thaksinism (PEFOT), the protesters accuse Ms. Yingluck of serving as a puppet for her brother, the controversial former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and demand her resignation.Earlier this morning, Pol.Maj.Gen. Adul Narongsak, deputy commander of Bangkok Metropolitan Police, visited the protesters′ camp with his assistants and attempted to negotiate with PEFOT representatives, namely Adm. Chai Suwannaparp and Gen. Preecha Eiamsupan.Sitting on a mat near Gate Three of Government House, Pol.Maj.Gen. Adul proposed that PEFOT move their rally to somewhere else, preferably Lumpini Park, during Mr. Li′s visit in order to maintain "good atmosphere" around Government House for the foreign delegates."After that, you are welcomed to come back and protest again," Pol.Maj.Gen. Adul told the protest leaders. The deputy commander stressed during the meeting that the police have to place checkpoints around the protesters′ camp to safeguard the welfare of the protesters. He said the officers have confiscated firearms, knives, and scissors from individuals who attempted to enter the protest site."We do not know who these people are," Pol.Maj.Gen. Adul said, "We have received intelligence that a third hand party is intent on creating [chaotic] situation,"However, Adm. Chai and Gen. Preecha insisted the protests would not disperse during the visit of the Chinese Premier, and offered to keep the camp site in clean and orderly fashion."I think it′s something we can show the foreigners, so they will see that Thailand has democracy and the rights of expression," said Gen. Preecha, adding that Ms. Yingluck should take Mr. Li for a walking tour in the protesters′ camp to prove that point.Pol.Maj.Gen. Adul said he hoped both parties can engage in further rounds of negotiation in order to solve the matter.Source: http://www.khaosod.co.th/en/view_newsonline.php?newsid=TVRNNE1UTXhNalExT1E9PQ==-- KHAOSOD English 2013-10-09
webfact Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 ISA activated around Govt House until Oct 18BANGKOK, 9 October 2013 (NNT) - The government has approved the use of the Internal Security Act (ISA) to control anti-government protests near Government House from now until October 18.Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok held a meeting with related ministers at Government House to discuss measures to ensure peace and order amid protests held by the People’s Army against the Thaksin Regime. khunken Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Deja Vu. Back in Thaksin's direct rule there was an APEC conference (photo Op) in Bangkok and his cousin, General Chaisit Shinawatra the army chief, warned protestors, stray dogs, street people to get off the streets - or else. The dogs & street people were forcibly removed. This is completely OTT in case the Chinese leader might see some democratic protests. Once again Thaksin's orders are being followed giving the lie to any pretence of democracy here. Another sad down day for the country. 1

Show the Chinese that whilst they tolerate a few insignificant silly protesters, they have a massive police presence at their disposal, ready to crack down at the snap of fingers. The Chinese are a pretty canny lot and know exactly whose in charge and makes all the decisions. I'm sure they're in regular dialogue with him and make him a welcome visitor. A "democratically elected" government, owned and controlled by a fugitive convicted criminal who issues instructions by Skype and offshore meetings. Sound like a work of fiction - sadly not. 2
khaowong1 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Most governments seem to have the need to stir up possible National Security Issues when they want to divert attention from them to something else. Politics as usual.
slapout Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 ....sounds like a military state.... When you have the RTP making new laws/regulations when and where they want, enforcement of law at the whim of themselves, enforcement of law and fine amounts determined by by local police, etc I think the more correct term is a "Police State" run by a gtoup of dispectable thugs, on their good days. When drunk, hung over, angry at another party, short of cash, hungary, horney etc they go downhill to outright nasty.
Popular Post Yunla Posted October 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted October 9, 2013 The government’s decision came after talks had failed to convince protesters to evacuate their rally site PTP should let the protesters stay there for three months, waving machetes and pouring human blood on the pavements, and threatening to torch the capital. Because as PTP have endlessly stated, this kind of behaviour is 'democracy in action and the voice of the people being heard!' But somehow I get the feeling that now the boot is on the other foot, it will come down a lot harder. 4

It takes a worried man to sing a worried song. Thaksin and his clan along with their brown nosing acolytes know that their lies are not being believed by the Thai people hence the rush to pass the 2 trilion slush fund development budget, the indecent haste concerning the reconciliation bill and the whitewashing of a convicted bail jumping felon. So now the enforcement of an I.S.A..to further suppress any action that might interfere with the blatant outright assault on democracy and the installation of a dictatorial political family dynasty. We see yet again just what power the dolly girl puppet Prime Minister has along with her puppet cabinet, and puppet party. Thaksins orders and then pulls the strings and they jump. Geoge Robey was the Prime Minister of Mirth, Yingluck is the Prime Minister of the farcical puppet show 1

RogueLeader Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Haha. I love how it only takes a mention of Taksin to get the ThaiVisa chimps out fapping and hurling turds at each other. It's a vast archipelago of red-faced white men inconsolably angry about something that they don't understand, can't change and that doesn't really affect them. It's like a PG Tips advert where the chimps are given a pocket calculator. Never change, TV. You are perfect the way you are. 1
