bangkokpoppys
gday...I'm buying a bike licensed in Chiang Mai then transporting to BKK. To transfer the reg I believe that I need my proof of residency passport etc - this is to be done in Chiang Mai with the seller present. Does anyone know if there is anything special to be done for the licensing being in Chiang Mai vs BKK? Does it get auto transferred or do I need to ask them to do it? Or do I need to de-register and re register in BKK. thanks in advance...BKKP
johng
If you are allready going to Chaingmai it would be much easier to keep the bike registered there just have the green book updated to show you as the new owner...there is no requirement to "move" the bike registration to the new province it is not automaticly done you would have to ask them to do it..and its a bit of a pain to do it yourself. You can pay TAX and Insurance anywhere and ride around BKK on Chaingmai plates with no problems. Edited October 10, 2013 by johng
