Snake anyone

Featured Replies

Found this snake after it had eaten a frog.

Thought water snake but not sure.

Any ideas please.

It was about a foot long non aggressive.

Checked a lot of sites, but nothing confirms my thinking.

Picture would be nice unless it's and invisible frog adder!

Got it,in the end.

Comments thank you.

Give it a stroke. If it bites, I might know what it is...

Banded Kukri (?)

daoyai.

Just had a look for reference.

I would say you are about, spot on.

Thank you.

It`s OK, the snake is non-venomous. Glad you didn`t kill it.

According to this video, the Banded Kukri only bites people that prod it with sticks, and give it a good bashing once in a while:

I had no. intention of killing the snake.

I have come across many species in Thailand, including the fabled Cobra.

I am trying to teach my Landladies two kids, not all snakes in Thailand are dangerous, look but don't touch etc.

I wanted conformation before I imparted any information.

So far this week 4 different varieties.

Golden tree,green tree,rat snake,now this one.

Thanks for the input.

I have a keen interest in snakes.

In years gone bye I used to keep and breed, red tail Boa constrictors.

One of the most placid of snakes,if handled on a regular basis.

But the snake in question I couldn't identify.

I had no. intention of killing the snake.

Good to hear that.....A few years ago a guy was so proud that he kill every snake in his area....as they must be all dead....

6 month later he posted about terrible problems with rats......

On snakes usually there is a competition between Farangs and Thais on who can be more stupid....

Everyone to their own preference.

Correct me if I am wrong, which I am sure will happen, but I thought the banded krait was a very dangerous snake. I also believe that when they have just eaten, as this one obviously has, then they are at their most vulnerable as they are unable to protect themselves

Banded KUKRI is not the same as Banded KRAIT 2 different snakes. heres one I had sometime ago, they strike fast but try to run away asap offering their tails as a distraction,

sorry guys buit I will always kill poisonous snakes, well most of them. Will not hurt non poisonous though especially pythons. In Australia on the farm we would not touch red belly blacks either as they ate brown snakes(small ones) but browns were open season, nasty little buggers would attack you.
