October 17, 201312 yr So this morning I went to Kap Cheung in order to renew my visa and get a reentry permit. Got there around 9.30 AM. The office has two middle age officers doing most work; one young supervisor; when I got there, he was watching soap operas on his mobile ignoring the waiting crowd. Only about one hour later, when it was almost standing room only, he broke down and took some customers. The officers are pleasant and smiling but rather unsure of themselves, therefore they constantly ask each other if this & that is OK; permissible etc. By the time they got through with me it took almost 45 minutes, (In Kurat I never spent more than 15 min. renewing my visa) Every time I deal with Immigration I am awe-struck how "big money" wastefully inefficient they are with the million stamps and manual log books and endless photocopies and than some more. Above will not be news for regulars but I had to get of my chest. The moral of this story is, get there early ! Best regards.
