Oh no! Traffic police with improved English skills.

I won't be able to get away with "These aren't the droids you're looking for! Move along!" after I've wound the window down in response to the raised gloved hand.

Alice in Plundeland uses thaksinspeak yet again.

Her comments must surely by now rate an entry into the Guinness Book of Records for the record number of most made inane comments by a puppet head of state.

She's the Prime Minister not the Head of State. You need to think (seriously) before you type especially when using insults.

Well you have to admit he got the puppet part rite. That takes no thinking just listen to Thaksin.

I think most posters had no problem knowing who he was talking about, Admittedly with the Thai education being what it is I can see where some would not understand it.

Has anyone here noticed how many times that she recently has ordered, directed, told, required, suggested or promised to look into a matter regarding a matter of public safety, corruption or principle? Why the sudden outburst of concern and why aren't her subordinates listening?

It is meant for the voters not her subordinates. She already has their vote.

2 Trillion, the new Government catch word, borrow 2 Trillion ,earn 2 Trillion,

it used to be Hub, now its 2 Trillion.

regards Worgeordie

Agree.

2 trillion police officers outside government house at the moment.

Minivans travelling at 2 trillion km/h.

2 trillion Chinese tourists queued up at immigration.

All problems in Thailand will be solved 2 trillion years from now.

They can make even more money if they stop the hassle at immigration points. At the main airport Thai immigration works disorgarnized and way too slow by spending on average 5 to 10 minutes on a person, while hundreds of tourists are queuing up and wondering why it is taking so long! In comparison it is spent about 30 sec per person in Hong Kong airport! The airport is the first impression Thailand makes, therefore by improving immigration procedures would greatly benefit Thailand as a whole.

Sorry, but have you been to the UK or US?

Come on, we're trying to improve things.

Not sink to the bottom......

Just speak German or some dialect. I met one guy from close to London who worked on the docks (Shipyards), that is all that I understood in 1 hour.

I haven't been and I understand your point. The criticism I brought is just to make a point for far East countries. I love Thailand and I want it to be competitive in the region. And the way Thai immigration works is no good, they need to change. The immigration officers should stop chatting to each other and having a laugh while hundreds of people wait in the queue. Also Thai immigration is not friendly to explain how to fill the arrival and departure cards. A person that stood beside me at immigration point had some questions. The immigration officer just threw his passport without explaining what to do and how to fill the missing area and laid back comfortably on his chair, while hundreds of people were queuing! The tourist had to scratch his head instead... That is common and wrong!

Someone is very close behind her with inane comments. She isn't the head of state, His Majesty the King has that position.

Take care knocking "the Thai education" when you use "rite' in the context that you did.

"Alice in Plunderland" is a cracking wee quote there though.

The PM is also keen to help locals and officials improve their English language, so that when they come across a foreigner who might be in trouble, he or she will be able to communicate and quickly react to certain situations.

Russian, Chinese or Hindi speakers, eat your hearts out.

Can not help but wonder, when PM is planning to improve her English skills.

The more that come, the more that will suffer train derailments, bus crashes, air crashes or other accidents in unsafe Thailand.

Also most Thais would not be impressed with coming across more foreigners in their daily lives. Thus how will this benefit the average Thai?

Whats the point of this announcement?

I had to return to Australia last Tuesday for a funeral, Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport immigration took 45 minutes to get through the line facepalm.gif No help for old or dissabled

Customs took 30 seconds, just walk through

Return to Swampy immigration took 5 minutes in line

I need to use a walking stick, so was let into Thai line,clap2.gif as for customs no one to be seen at all

"Thailand will overcome all tourists in the kingdom" may be the first time she's actually told the truth.

She will help others improve their English ????????????????? She doesn't even speak that language cheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gifcheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gifcheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gifcheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gifcheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gif

I'd be willing to bet that her English is light years ahead of your Thai. She graduated from Kentucky State Univ in USA which would be impossible to do if you didn't speak/understand English. I can assure you that Kentucky State doesn't teach in Thai.

You're having a laugh. Her brother got a Doctorate from one the Unis there, and he can barely string a sentence together. I'd suspect that any work either of them submitted was done by someone else. Now, didn't DLs son get done for cheating at Uni?

Amazing -to target the tourism industry to re-coup 2 trillion, when its not a big earner for revenue as Thai has stated before only 8% ?? of income for the government, all of a sudden it looks like it is in the big 3 of earners. Rather strange when they play down the industry as a small part of income when they wish-or convenient.

I can sight several roads that are and have been in need of serious repair for the last two years. Everyday at least 30 buses and countless minivans use these roads. The one person who dispenses funds for road repairs has pocketed the monies used to repair these roads. Yes he/ they are in trouble but that does not fix the roads at least anytime soon.

I do not know what lines you stand in but has never taken 5 to 10 min. per person at any immigration control line I have been thru.

Have you ever gone through US immigration? Depending on the day and time of arrival i have spent close to an hour getting through. Other times faster but never ever over an half hour.

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif Has to be one of the dumbest comments I have read for quite a while. You really don't know much about HiSo Thais, do you ?

Maybe you should put a bit of thought into it before making such ridiculous statements. You look as silly as the rest of the Yingluck fan club.

Look at Big Brother's credentials, and he would be flat out ordering a baloney sandwich in English in the USA. clap2.gif

Please, keep them coming, good for a laugh at least.

There's one visitor she'd like to see more than any other. She would be sorely relieved, because he could take over her PM's seat, and she could concentrate on what she's adept at: shopping overseas.

Like patrolling police who speak English?

Jet Ski Gangs eliminated with licensing laws and mandatory insurance?

Illegal Taxis crushed in to cubes and a properly run taxi service put in place?

Thailand is one huge accident waiting to happen.Everywhere you look there are

things which wouldn't be allowed in our home countries.Nobody cares.

She might have added 3 zeros too many to her goal. Before throwing these numbers out, did anyone thingk to check the tourist revenue for other countries of the world?

The PM seems about as knowledgable in sums as she is in English. One post referred to her attendance at a Kentucky University. I would remind him her brother attended the same university. Maybe they would have rather gone to Grambling, but neither seems to be very sports inclined. I hear Langstan University is right up there in the ranking also.

Oh dear................

What can we do ????

Nobody cares,............We are doomed, doomed, doomed, I tell you.

Meanwhile, life goes on and prospers in Thailand.

Wish missionaries weren't allowed though.

Certainly life goes on, apparently normally.

I might question 'prospers', but I'm not in a position to make comparisons with the past.
