Attempted kidnapping on Koh Chang

Featured Replies

Not sure if story is already running.

An Australian family on holiday on K.Chang nearly had their 2 daughters taken by a lady who had befriended the girls while on the ferry. Once on the island the lady tried to drag the girls into a taxi telling the mother they were not her children. The lady was not Thai, she had a Dutch or Danish accent, blonde hair according to the parents.

Saving me from writing the whole story, surely it can be googled?

Caution to all parents out there!

Yeah I saw this on iamkohchang FB earlier.

Obviously a nutcase.

The tourist police did nothing. That is pathetic. Hopefully the Koh Chang tourist police read this and realise they have made themselves look like fools. They have been bagged in an Australian newspaper. What a joke they really are.

Other side of the coin is also in the news, a 4yr old blonde child was removed from a Roma family in Greece as suspected to have been kidnapped, authorities are holding the child whilst they try to ascertain the childs roots.

Good to know it can work the other way too.

I don't know how long you've been in Thailand, but you need to realize something about the Tourist Police. They're not for the protection of tourists as many presume but are there to police the tourists. To make sure they behave and don't cause trouble for the Thais. They're as much help as the regular 'police'.
