Cannot Open Several Websites On My Favorites List

Featured Replies

Starting about two weeks ago I haven't been able to open several web sites on my favorites list. When I try to open them I get the notice, This site cannot be displayed or something like that.

The other sites on my favorites list I have no problem opening. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Well, it could be any of 10000000 reasons. Post a few of the sites here so others can check if they can access, may be your end, may be at the site, may be blocked by the government for 'inappropriate content'.

BTW, error messages often give useful infromation, they rarely say 'or something like that'.

I cannot access www.pattayamail.com ro www.lonelyplanet.com

OK, both work just fine for me (on a KSC ADSL connection). So it looks like the problem is at your end or with your ISP.

That said, I think several ISPs are having problems with their nameservers. I can't access the British embassy website (although others can) and I can access those sites whilst you can't.

It may be a transient problem, and clear itself, failing that try :-

http://130.94.5.31 for Lonely Planet

and

http://38.113.1.146 for Pattaya mail

I can open both Pattaya Mail and Lonely Planet websites with no problem but the Pattaya Mail web address quoted doesn't work. "Page Not Found"

Argh!! My fault for not testing it :o A ping to www.pattayamail.com pings that IP address, may be something to do with our problem, or not, who knows.

I'm off out for a beer and watch motogp, hopefully the problem will have 'gone away' when I get back :D
