Overstay Fines

I was just told on another forum that the overstay fines are 500 baht per day not 200 baht/day. I don't know if the maximum fine is still listed as 20,000 baht. I have seen several posts lately about paying overstay fines and some were still quoting 200/baht per day figure. Might want to double check before overstaying.

The daily rate increased from 200 Baht to 500 Baht quite a few years ago but the maximum was left at 20,000 Baht when paid at immigration. Different rules apply when an overstayer is taken to court for it.
