I have had retirement visa extensions for many years in CM
We have moved to Nakhon Phanom
Immigration in Nakhon Phanom say: Must go back to Chiang Mai for extension of visa
So we did this: Called this number...Very Helpful if peculiar!

With cooperation between Immigration Bureau and Government Contact Center, now you can call 1111 for immigration inquiry for 24 hours.

They say no need to go back to CM, but need to go with Householder with Tabian Baan and wife with ID and Marriage Certificate to immigration in NP
In CM all you need is copies of everything and letter from Embassy

What on earth have mother in law and wife to do with retirement visa? Have affidavit letters every year from British Embassy re income!

Is your wife on her mothers house book? If yes just wife should be enough. Fill out a TM28 change of address form with new address on it also.

Thanks. Never had to establish it before!.True: letter from Chiang Mai British Consulate states..."who informs he resides at"...never had to produce anything else. TM28 seems not much observed...have things changed?

I still don't understand this

So the TM 47 requires an address but no evidence required

TM 7 has no requirement for an address..so why the fuss about wives/Tabian Baans/Mothers in Law..what if I did not have any. This a Retirement Visa not a Marriage Visa

I have never encountered anyone filling in TM28

??

Are the BKK/CM/Nakhon Computers not linked?

They just want proof that you are living within their area of responsibility.

Many immigration offices are now ask for firm proof of residency. Such as rental contracts and etc. In you case your wife's house book can prove that along with your marriage certificate.

TM7 does have a space for your address.

Most immigration will ask for proof of address if you file your TM47 with an office is not the same as where you got your extension.

There are some offices that require the TM28 when you first use them for extensions. Some even want a TM30 from your land lord or even your wife.
