Pizza company, late delivery

Yesterday I ordered pizzas for the family from 1112.com. The confirmation email stated that if the delivery time was longer than 30 minutes, we would receive a 400 baht voucher for our next purchase.

The pizzas came after 45 minutes, and being the stingy bas****, I decided to try it out.

I asked the delivery boy, and he asked me to call their hotline. Did that, and the girl at the other end just apologized, and said they were very busy in the weekend, and seemed to ignore anything else I said, so in the end I handed the phone to my wife.

She was then told, that if we complained about late delivery, to receive the 400 baht voucher, the delivery boy would be deducted 1000 baht in his salary, is there any truth to this?

I initially took it as a blatant lie (make the farang feel pity for us), so just insisted that it was not my problem.

Later on in the conversation they then told my wife, that the delivery boy would bring us the voucher, and we would then have to call back to the call center, saying everything was OK again, and then he would NOT have any salary reduction.

So in the end, who is paying for that voucher? Is the branch just taking that loss, or will they still somehow punish the staff? I have not once received the food within 30 minutes, and have ordered many times by now.

Forget about the delivery boy. The next time you order and try to use that food voucher, I would have a food taster on standby. BTW, how long have you been here? Back in the US, even Domino's doesn't have a 30 minute guarantee anymore.

In case it wasnt clear from my OP, had I actually beleived that the staff would be punished, I would never make a problem out of it, for several reasons.

Never piss-off the person preparing/delivering your food, or the person that cuts your hair. coffee1.gif

But thats just it, am I in any way pissing of the staff? or couldnt they care any less (assuming they are not deducted in salary)?

Post like this, makes me ashamed to be an expat!!bah.gif

Why? A big company set some standards for themselves and have a discount policy, if they fail to live up to those standards. I then choose to call them out on that policy.

For wanting things correct?

It is the Pizza companys offer.

If you buy a TV and it is not working a week later, are you ashamed to bring it back to the shop, as well?

Even if they deduct 1000 Baht from the delivery buy, it is not your problem.

If they don't pay enough they won't have enough staff.

You don't worry on your computer HD if they cut the salary of the Quality check team, if you claim it under warranty.

But I doubt the cut the delivery boy, because it also depends on when he got the Pizza. When the kitchen needs 25 min, he can't deliver it at 30 min.

It is possible that the complete team gets a bonus on the end of the month if there are very little delays. Or there is a ranking within the company of the best team.
