Looking for other homeschoolers!

Featured Replies

Hello!

My name is Angela, i am married to Rob and together we have a great son, Wobbe, 7 years. We spend about 4 to 6 months evvery year in Thailand (mostly on Koh Samui) and we are looking for other homeschoolers. We lean towards the styles: unschooling/ project based homeschooling/ charlotte mason (so i believe, we are 'eclectic' homeschoolers ?)

To get some more people to koh samui this coming winter, i am organizing bi-weekly playgroups and will organize more every week. Also, I am now busy putting together a homeschool holiday around the Thailand theme. Idea is to pick 2 weeks (prob in feb) and organize an activity around the theme every day, maybe thai cooking, dancing, flora and fauna, festivals, traditions, religion, hadycrafts, language, traditional houses or clothing etc etc All realaxed and fun, somthing like that...

besides this, i am very dedicated to find out if there are meet-up groups already somewhere in the country (i know of the one in BKK) or surrounding countries. i want to travel a bit to find others. Maybe in Phuket? Hua Hin? and who knows something about groups in Bali or Singapore? We feel our son (esp being an only child) needs so much kids around him now, we would like to travel or even move if we would find a nice support group somewhere!

Thanks so much for ANY info!

Warm regards,

Angela

Hi Angela,

We are also homeschooling, as is another family here in Surat Thani town. I have 2 boys (9,4) and my friend has 2 boys (13,8).

We'd love to meet you guys if you're ever on the mainland. Let me know if you're interested in meeting up.
