Best mobile provider (prepaid)

Featured Replies

Hello together,

I read already a few threads about some provider and that also the 3G runs often on a 2G network.

I'm going to travel by motorbike through the country, so I need a very good mobile coverage, because I use my tablet also for navigation.

A good bandwidth would be nice, too. But this is more optional. Usually I use arround 2GB per month.

I can have only a prepaid contract, because I will use the SIM card only for the next two months. Also I want to use the card for usually phone calls, but I dont need any flatrate.

So which provider would you recommend to me?

I know only about AIS, True, DTac yet.

Thank you people.

Wulf

AIS is suppose to have the best network throughout Thailand if you want to travel to remote places. DTAC is second. True in third place. At least my opinion. In Thailand are only these three carriers. Though there are a few others in the market but as far as I understood they use True network. I might be wrong on that.

Hutch is history?

not that i recommend it

AIS was brilliant for me until It went to 3G, now it is impossible to have a conversation with other people on AIS 3G as the calls constantly drop out.

For basic calling i use true 1 baht a minute but i highly recommend avoiding true due to my experiences.

Do the other carriers offer 1 baht a minute or better pre paid?

dont use true they will rip you off! ais is your best bet.

If you want 3G data then the True 850MHz network is the most extensive. AIS I would agree is the best in general for voice, but the 3G 2100 network is spotty to say the least
