webfact
Mastermind 'may be close to Jakkrit's wife'Phathinya IamtanThe Nation BANGKOK: -- THE MASTERMIND behind the killing of former Olympian shooter Jakkrit Panichpatikum is most likely somebody who is very close to the sportsman's wife, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lt-General Camronwit Toopgrajank said yesterday."We believe somebody close to her took out a contract [on Jakkrit's life]," the senior police office said after emerging from a meeting on the investigation. Jakkrit was fatally shot on October 19 while on his way to meet his wife, Dr Nithiwadee Phucharoenyos, and their children.Police have now identified "family dispute" as the motive behind the killing. Earlier this year, Nithiwadee and Jakkrit's mother publicly sought help from Social Development and Human Security Minister Pavena Hongsakul over domestic violence.Nithiwadee's family also recently hired bodyguards for her. The police have interrogated these four men, who are members of Royal Thai Air Force, and are convinced they are in no way involved in the crime.Meanwhile, an informed source said Jakkrit's assets were worth several million baht and his life-insurance policies had a combined coverage of more than Bt14 million, with his wife and their children named as beneficiaries."The investigation is making good progress and arrest warrants for the mastermind, the killer and their accomplices should be issued before the end of this week," the source said.It added that the killing team possibly had four members - one whose job was to identify Jakkrit, another to drive the getaway vehicle, one to do the actual shooting and the fourth to protect the gunman. "Police are monitoring three of these suspects," the source said.-- The Nation 2013-10-

soi41
To find the mastermind shouldn't be that difficult, as the wife appearently had a "close friend" for more than 6 years, who is a policeofficer. Plus the fact that she and her mother stole Mr Jakkrits valuables ,when he was detained for alledged domestic violence. Maybe there was a reason for Jakkrits behaviour?? A couple of very evil women, wife and MIL, ruining his life? There are always two sides to a story!
Popular Post NongKhaiKid
In the usual effort to get publicity that makes them look efficient once again the BIB disclose their game plan, in this case announcing that warrants for the main suspects will be issued at the end of the week. If ever there'a an invitation for suspects to go to ground or leave the country this is it although at times I'm sure that may be the intention. It seems the ' mastermind ' put together a really specalist hit team, he had to hire someone to identify the target who is supposedly well known and have they never heard of photographs ? It seems too even the gunman needed a bodyguard. Termination with Extreme Prejudice Thai style.

"Police are monitoring three of these suspects," the source said. That's a lot of specific intel. Or, is it, possibly, speculation? Nonetheless, keep on monitoring, lads. Thailand's finest. worgeordie
Odds 1000 to 1 ,that in 7 days still no one charged with anything, with the Thai police its always one of 3 motives, drugs, love triangle, and money. So these 4 airmen were on bodyguard duty ,while still serving in the air force, regards Worgeordie

coma
Latest is that the wife's elder half brother is in the firing line. He has " priors " for violence and police are " keeping an eye on him " so as he doesn't flee the country whilst they "strengthen their case. They are also looking for an army sergeant they believe was the person who pointed the target out and is also responsible for putting the hit team together. Police are waiting for the results from the forensics department that are still analysing the mobile found in Ekk's car. Said mobile was a Samsung Galaxy that could only be used for internet and as a recording device. Not for in/out calls. They are particularily interested in some deleted files on it.
