Taxi costs to Utapao

Any concensus on the going costs to get to Utapao? I have a flight to Phuket tomorrow afternoon and I have heard some taxi costs that are higher than going to BKK!

500- 700 Baht! There used to be a Bangkok Air operated Minibus, booked at any hotel/travel agent which picked you up at hotel for 300 Baht/trip. Regards. MS>

I paid 800 baht from Pattaya Klang to Utaupo in 2004. I think I got reamed on the price though. You could take a white baht bus for 20 baht to Bang Saray & a taxi for 300-400 to Utaupo from there. Not as convenient but way cheaper.

OK. I just did a taxi from Soi Lengkee to Utapao on Oct 29. Cost was 600 baht. I liked that airport. Small terminal but the lasses that manned the checkin and the small waiting area were nice. Flew to Phuket. A smooth quiet ride on Bangkok air with a small lunch served en route. I really enjoyed it. It is much eaiser than getting up to Bangkok for the trip. Quicker too.
