THAIPHUKET Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I have been drafting a letter on PC ,later edited on my Android. However, the edited parts are not showing in my PC drafts. Went several times out of Gmail and back in , allowed for time, no synchronization, the text in Android does not appear on gmail , W7. Weird?? Now I mailed the Android draft with complete text to myself and it arrived as drafted.
RichCor Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Just did a test myself using a Win7 laptop and an Android 4.3 phone using gmail. Hello, my name is BIOSdeath. Please deposit ฿100 into my Somali account TODAY or I will ask the boat captain I started typing the above text using web gmail on a Win7 laptop, saved the missive and closed the pseudowindow, then opened it on my phone. Added a few more words then menu | Save Draft. Reopened the file on Win7 and... no updated changes. Interesting. If I clicked the draft it opened the previous saved version. If I went to Inbox and returned Drafts on the Win7 PC then the draft displayed an updated timestamp and opening it revealed the additional text from the synchronization. Waiting for a screen refresh wouldn't do it. Hope this helps. On another note, while I was editing my missive, the word IS would change into ISSUES then change back again. I think google is punking me.
THAIPHUKET Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 I also noticed that gmail -new Android mails are not down loaded automatically upon arrival , rather I must activate REFRESH Anyone else?
RichCor Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 On my Android devices, I have my gMail App set to Sync Inbox so email gets pushed to my device, otherwise I believe the app will only receive the headers on refresh. Gmail App: Menu >> Settings >> account @ domain :: DATA USAGE :: Sync Gmail [√ ] Sync setting for other Labels (i.e. Stared; Important; Sent; etc ) can be viewed through :: DATA USAGE :: Manage Labels Unfortunately, DRAFT does not appear to be one of the labels that can be set, but it does automagically update on the Android device, disappears and reappears with edited text, when I edit and save a Draft email on the PC. I'm assuming it Sync'd along with the Inbox setting.
