The sportswriter who blogged his suicide

Featured Replies

After reading the downhearted story about the Brit, Mike, who hung himself in Pattaya a few days ago, it brought back thoughts about a story from the States that happened a few months ago. A man planned for a year to end his life on his 60th birthday, and leave behind a detailed manifesto to explain his reasoning.

I find the story fascinating, albeit sad because he had no money problems, was in good health, an active church member, no relationship problems, and had a fulfilling career as a sports reporter.

The only thing that I can think of is that he lost the joy for life. I would like to know what the rest of you guys think about this.

The first link is the story and the second is his "manifesto."

As this is about a sportswriter who committed suicide in the USA does not make it Thailand related and now closed.
