You can even let pleasant sounds like birds chirping in instead, with the turn of a knob.Genius? We know, and so do the folks over at the UK's James Dyson Awards, who've listed Sono among the contenders for this year's award in industrial design. As I understand it the concept has been confirmed and they're now looking for funding to produce it. It's meant to work on the same principle of noise-canceling headphones. sms747 Posted November 8, 2013 Share Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) if it works on the noise cancelling idea it will only filter out constant noise, like an engine. The electronics analyse the wave form then create the negative to cancel it out. Sharp intermittent noise such as barking dogs and the like will sound just the same.
