late fee when late at 90 days report, while having a work permit

Featured Replies

Hello

Can someone help me?

I live and work in phuket. I have a work permit.

I have forgotten to report for my 90 days. I'm a couple of weeks late.

A lawyer told me that the maximum fee immigration can ask me is 2000THB. Is this correct?

I tried to check this information online but couldnt find anything.

I want to have confirmation of his information before I go to immigration, so that i dont get robbed. Can i find a document about it somewhere to show just in case they ask more?

thank you for helping.

2000 with receipt , 1000 without (if you deal with a junior preferably)

Then again this is Phuket.

( You must come to the nearest immigration office or Immigration Division 1 in person to pay fine 2,000 Baht)

The official fine is 4k if you voluntarily 'surrender' (more if you get caught). But the usual fine is 2k irrespective of the time period you failed to report.

Actually the standard posted fine is 2k if you offer to pay and 4k if found in legal actions. The max allowed fine is 5k and there is a 200 baht per day provisions which is undefined but appears to be in case you refuse or can not pay when asked until it is paid.

Thanks. Sorry for late reply. Actually, a European Visa guy helper (I don't really know what they are officially refered to as) helped me himself into getting the 1000 discount: he showed me what to do, introduced me to the proper person, etc. :)

Thank you and sorry for late reply (I am not yet used to use Thaivisa). As mentioned above, I ended up paying 1000THB.

Thank you. As already mentioned, I ended up paying 1000. This said, in your reply, I don't understand the nuance between "official" (4k), and "usual" (2k). How does one know which one should apply? Thanks again.

What do you mean "found in legal actions"? Like "routinely controlled on the road by Police"? any other instance?

What do you mean "max allowed fine"? does that mean that the immigration police is free to set up their own fee? On a case by case basis? If yes, do they follow any principle? I mean what makes them decide you will pay 2k, 5k, etc? I have never heard of the 200THB per day provision either. Do you have any further information about it? Any website link? As for me, I was about 2 or 3 weeks late, and I only paid 1000THB as stated above. Thanks again.
