11/11/13 - 15/11/13 Holiday? Will Immigration In Chiang Mai Be Open?

Featured Replies

My visa expired today 9/11/13, and I went for a 30-day extension today before remembering it was Saturday. I heard there was a holiday sometime in the upcoming days. Does anyone know if the immigration office will be closed on any days next week? A friend went in for a visa yesterday because he was told the week in question would be a bad time to go due to holidays... I hope I don't have to pay too much for being over by the time it is open...

There are no holidays on the calendar. You need to do it on Monday. You will have to pay overstay of 500 baht a day if you don't. It depends on immigration whether you pay for today and tomorrow or not. You could of done it earlier you loose nothing if you do.

I assume it is your permit to stay that has expired not your visa.

No holidays in November so should be open.

You could have done it any day last week

It is Loy Krathong Sunday next week, but that is nor a public holiday. Just a celebration in the evening.

As said, go to immigration on Monday and you will be all right.

Thank you all for the help and for clearing that up. Good link, ubonjoe!

I waited until the last day for a good reason, but yes, ordinarily, I should have gone sooner.
