webfact
Democrat to submit censure motion next weekHataikarn TreesuwaThe NationBANGKOK: -- Chief Opposition whip Jurin Laksanavisit said Wednesday that the Democrat Party will file a censure motion against the Yingluck Shinawatra government next week.He said Democrat MPs have already signed their support for the motion.Jurin said that the resignations of Suthep Thaugsuban and eight other Democrat MPs from the House would not affect the Democrat’s plan to censure the government."However, we are waiting to set a suitable time as we need more information and papers for the debate," he saidJurin said the Democrat might first submit a motion against certain Cabinet members and leave the prime minister out of the censure showdown.A party source explained that if the protesters wanted the prime minister to dissolve the House, she would be prohibited from so doing by the charter were a censure motion submitted against her. If Yingluck refuses to dissolve the House, the Democrat would then resort to submitting a second censure motion against her.Alongkorn Ponlaboot, deputy Democrat leader, said Yingluck had one week to decide to dissolve the House or face a censure debate."Yingluck should make a decision to dissolve the House this week before the Democrat MPs submit a censure motion. It is the best way for the government to step down," he said.-- The Nation 2013-11-
bigbamboo
There really is no end to the juvenile antics of the people who are supposed to be the nation's representatives. Perhaps Yingluck should have called her reality show 'Smart Politician Thailand' in the hope they might actually find one.
Robby nz
But Yingluk wont because : Despite the mounting pressure against his sister's embattled government, ex-prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra yesterday instructed the ruling Pheu Thai Party to cling on to power in the hope the opposition-led rally against the amnesty bill would die down soon, a Pheu Thai source said yesterday. God has spoken.

tominbkk
Are there any anti amnesty protestors out there now? Monday night 60,000+, Tuesday morning 2500. It's Thursday, what is the count? If there aren' any protestors, that would be a pity, but it would probably also be a call to end the protests. And are the 50,000+ Red skirts still over at MTT? I would love to know! Hmmm I guess Fabby does not consider teaching to be work, much less gaining multiple degrees from prestigious schools! Abhisit was a lecturer at Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. Then went back to the UK for his Masters degree. Then he was a lecturer in economics at Thammasat, before getting another degree, this time in law. DL's best mate got the police shooting factory workers in Cambodia coz they wanted more than 75 dollars a month. That is the path this gov. will follow until they own everything and the reds are their serfs. The rice scheme is an undercover land grab for the rich. Depress the price, the land is worthless, we buy it for next to nothing. Farmers; You are now our slaves. Check your history re; DL wanting massive arab owned rice farms in Thailand. I'd like informed counters from those who were here when the above woz said. Edited November 13, 2013 by Soi Sauce

He was not qualified for the position in the first place having used false documentation to obtain it (confirmed in the defamation case against Jatuporn) , in lieu of military service, and then took 200 days leave in the year he was there. According to his biography he was a "Special Lecturer in Economics" at Oxford University. Perhaps you can enlighten me about what this post is? The only mention I can find is the "special lecture" held every now and then with guest speakers. Wikipedia makes no mention of him being a lecturer at Oxford, a suprising omission one would think. He did lecture there once at a Special Lecture so it appears he's unsuprisingly bent the truth on his lecturing days.He supposedly started lecturing in Economics at Thammasat Uni (for how long?) in 1992 whilst simultaneously entering politics. On these dates his official biography is suitably sketchy. Oh and that other degree in Law, an honorary one from Ramkhamhaeng Univerity Schools. More like work experience to me.

The reality is that Khun Abhisit is a failure for good reasons. No one with a brain believes him, also for good reasons, some of which I'm sure you're very well aware of. Now leader of the opposition Abhisit is unable to be creative or objective in representing the Thai people as opposition leader. Perhaps someone should inform him of his responsibilities so that he may understand why the people expect better behavior for the salary they pay him. Lite Beer
Opposition set to censure PM Yingluck next weekBy English News BANGKOK, Nov 14 – The opposition Democrat Party will seek a no-confidence debate against the government for its handling of the massive political demonstrations against the blanket amnesty bill, a party executive said today.Jurin Laksanavisit, chief of opposition whips, said Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra must clearly explain the government’s guiding principles in dealing with protesters who have rallied in accord with the law.He said a planned rally by the pro-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), or Red Shirt activists, early next week is aimed at putting pressure on the Constitution Court which is due to give its verdict on a charter amendment next Thursday.Parliament recently passed a revision of the Constitution which paves the way for an entirely-elected Senate, instead of the present system in which some senators are appointed and some elected. The Democrat Party later petitioned the Constitution Court against the amendment, reasoning that the passage of the bill was a breach of the Constitution.Mr Jurin said the prime minister must assure safety for demonstrators who have held political protests in Bangkok since last month. He said Democrat MPs will also touch on the government’s failure in its controversial rice subsidy plan.Amnuay Klangpa, chief of government whips, said the no-confidence debate is tentatively scheduled for next Thursday and it should take two days, after which a censure vote is held the next day.The opposition has centred on the prime minister who will be able to give her explanations with the help of other Cabinet members, he said.
