My friend is visiting from Europe to tour south asia for a few months. He went to cambodia to renew his visa then came back the following day to thailand and got a 30 day tourist visa. Should he not of got a 15 day visa? He's crossed the border a few times since arriving already and always got 15 day upon returning to thailand. Could they have made a mistake? Should he only stay the 15 days because he's worried he will be in trouble if they scan his passport and it shows he's overstayed. Or does it only appear on the stamp which shows he's allowed for a month.

Any help is greatly aprreciated.

New rules. 30 days for a handful of countries. Reported here a week ago or so.

If he is from a G-7 country it is now returned to the 30 day entry anywhere.

As said it depends on his nationality.
