Featured Replies

Any good brands of massage balms from Thailand that you like? That you can find in the store. Also as Any good Chinese massage ointments/balms/oils that you like that can be found in Thailand? Thanks.

Tiger Balm , Though I think that is from Singapore ?? Love the Hot one .

A friend of mine swears by "yellow oil"....never tried it so don't know...but here's a site telling all about it

http://somthawinyellowoil.com/home/oil/

Depends what you want it to do, oils are blended to have not only aroma, but beneficial effects too..Some are just smelly commercial crap, others are authentic applications. This can be a very specialised subject and have health issues. If its for yourself you may well know what is ok and not ok to apply to large areas of your skin, If its for someone else, be very careful what you buy or atleast check whats in it.

Example: Many massage oils use Almond oil as the carrier, anyone with a nut allergy would be in serious trouble.

Many use grapeseed oil, no worries for most people, but can react with certain skin types.

So called "secret recipes" are selling gimmicks and should be avoided as they dont want to tell you whats actually in it !

Like anything else you put in or on your body, be careful not only what it is but where you get it.

Just a word of caution.

Good advice. Find a professional massage service and ask them. Many places use oils that are cheaper for obvious reasons. Almost any oil based on high quality olive or grapseed oil is ok, but they are not cheap. There are a few good places in Changmai night market that sell herbal stuff. Also the German massage place on Soi 18 Naklua Rd in Pattaya. But in most big markets you will find good stuff if you ask around. In Bangkok go to Spa 20 in Soi 20 next to the Emporium, they will help you.
