Re-entry Permit on Double Entry Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi.

I'm on the first month of a double entry tourist visa. I want to leave for Taiwan for four days. I was hoping to get re-entry permit so I didn't have to use up my second entry on my permit. Looking at TV's re-entry guide (http://www.thaivisa.com/re-entry-permit.html) it mentions that the permit is required for single entry. But it doesn't mention explicitly if double entries are not permitted to apply.

I plan on applying for the permit at the BKK immigration office, because I have a pretty early flight.

Any tips would be great.

Thanks

You can get one for either of your entries. The desk at the airport is open 24 hours a day.

Ah, perfect.

Searching before posting, I saw many posts that say don't rely on the airport desk (use it more for emergencies) and one or two that said it was only open between 6AM and 12 midnight. It's not that difficult for me to go to the immigration office, so I figured I wouldn't take the chance. Times have changed?

Thanks

There have been recent reports of it being open 24 hours a day. It is no longer for emergencies only.

Looks like I'm going to have to check it out then. Thanks!

Oh, one last question. Does one "apply" for re-entry permits like for a visa? Do people get denied for them? Or because I'm already here with a visa, the application and fee is for the extra paperwork and stuff?

Thanks

I never have heard of one being denied as long as a person has enough time left on their permit to stay remaining to justify issuing it.
