Need to find cabinet maker in Khorat

Featured Replies

Just bought a new home in Khorat and need to have cabinets installed in the kitchen. Any leads or suggestions for finding a good installer who won't cost an arm and leg. I have a small kitchen so won't need much but want a quality installation. Thanks for any help.

Can't help you in Korat but I had the same dilemma. I just happened to see a place along the road that had a bunch of doors and bed frames in a shop. I have seen many. The guy does good work and uses some really neat wood. I am sure it is Burmese Rosewood (could be Thai). Spoken as Padu. There are some problems that can easily be worked out with a plane but I am very satisfied. So much so I am having him build cabinets and furniture for the whole house.

It was 70,000 Baht for an 'L" cabinet 5M X 2M X 60 cm minus the top which I had granite installed, plus four upper cupboards. 2 rectangular and 2 corner. Not sure if that price will include installation as I had the builder install them.

There are many shops along the roads. Just keep your eyes open. Just go in and see if his work is up to your standards. Language can be a problem.

I had a cabinet maker do my kitchen cabinets, closets and a few other things. His name is Bua and he does excellent work. I'll send you a PM with his phone number.

Many thanks for the responses.

My kitchen cabinets are only going to be about 2M x 2.5M x 60cm with upper cabinets along one side wall. The back wall is taken up by a wide window and door so this won't be a large job. Haven't decided what kind of counter top, i.e. granite or a composite type. Hopefully, this won't be too small of a job but like I said I want a quality product. My Thai wife will be able to negotiate the language issue so I'm not concerned about that. I know that HomePro has installations but they are going to be the highest priced. I am hoping to keep from having to do a lot of driving around looking for an alternative. However, driving around does help get acquainted with the area.

I appreciate your time and interest in helping me with this matter.
