I'm sure this will be moderated but what is happening here.....why are we not taking are of our own?

Half of Eastern Europe is flooding in AND they can bring their Thai spouse......FOR FREE.....(correct me when I'm wrong Tobias).....no TB test ..No 3 month wait..no English test..No financial requirements..No proof of relationship..No £930.00 fee...........the list continues...

Please somebody grow a pair and man up............This has got to be sorted!!!

In fact the whole of the rest of the EU can do this, it's called an EEA Family Permit and is available only for those coming to the UK to work who have a job.

By contrast we as UK citizens can take our Thai spouses to any country in the EU except the UK using the same permit, again it's only available if you are going there to work. You can take your Thai wife to, say, Italy if you have a job there.

It's an EU regulation, not sure how 'manning up' and 'growing a pair' is going to help apart from getting the law removed, at which point everyone will need a visa for anywhere in the EU.

As has been pointed it's the Government of the day that sets policy and introduces legislation, not the UKV&I who just enforce the current law.

As has also been pointed out it's EU law that allows this and it's a two way route, there are many UK Nationals taking advantage of free movement with their non EU spouses.

This is going nowhere.
