Sophon vs CTH Cable TV and recording off same?

Featured Replies

After being on the Thai Cable/Sat/ipTV round-about for some time I have done some further research in the Pattaya area for English language channels.

I have now narrowed my choice to Cable/Sat TV with either Sophon or CTH both of which have Thai (my wife and kids) and English (me and the kids).

Truevisions is too expensive and I am not yet venturing down the ipTV road.

I have the below questions left before I take the plunge:

1. I have had trouble researching if I can record off the cable services here like I used to in Australia with my Foxtel HQ service which allowed recording of 2 programmes simultaneously. Also, what STB/DVR equipment with, say a 500gb or 1tb hard drive or connection is available here and can do the job and where can I pick one up? It seems very difficult to get any answers or recomendations on this?

2. It seems both Sophon and CTH have a similar number of English channels and content? I would also appreciate any feedback if you've recently researched this or can tell me what English channels you get off either service.

3. Lastly, how's the customer service and do they have many outages? Seems it's all pretty bad according to the posts I have read but is it improving and is there any English speaking support?

Thanks in advance for any guidance, feedback or recommendations.

Cheers

:-)
