Falang price but in reverse..

Think that's the correct title? Anyhow here's the story..

Went and bought a new mattress today from a factory direct type store in Australia with my wife and daughter. Nice enough sales guy, giving his sales spiel, I'm happy enough with the price, but wait..

Out walks his wife who happens to be Thai. She starts chatting with my wife and holding the baby, next thing I know, and the sales guy knew, she just knocked a healthy 300 dollars off the already good price and got free delivery. You beauty!

So, falang prices, in reverse? :)

The first price was the "farang" price.tongue.png

Blatant racism if you ask me thumbsup.gif

...

"Blatant Racism"....I think NOT.....its a Thai taking care of a Thai.....Remember Yermanee their in Australia NOT Thailand !coffee1.gif

Kinda like if you went into a store and got the price on something,,,,,then got to talking to the owner and you found out you were related (3rd cousins or something)...and the owner reduced the price .."family price"

Stuff like this happens every day....nothing wrong with it (NOT racist)...nice to be on the receiving end!...lighten upsmile.png

The price should have doubled!

Doubled is falang price. This is cheaper so it's reversed.

so your wife is the falang in this case and she got a discount for being a thai falang?

Correct!

I pointed this out to her the first time she came to Australia.

"Look whos the falang now"!

"No, you still falang"!

Was the answer.

Look how many times the matresses are for half price, that means they ask far to much normally.

But all matresses in Thailand are not what i call a good matress. I have bought 2, a Swiss brand and a lady Americana and both are still too hard. The last one is 40 cm thick and still harder then a European one from 10 cm thick. Why would i need all those iron springs in it?

Next one i buy will be from Ikea. They have latex matresses and that's the only one i want from now on.

You pay more then $300 for a mattress ... blink.png (just knocked a healthy 300 dollars off the ... price)

Come on ... what happened to sleeping on the floor on a bamboo mat.

You're getting soft in your old age ... whistling.gif

BTW ... what was the original asking price?

My bother in law worked in a furniture warehouse back in Arizona and taught me how to read the price tags, in the item number the last 4 digits reversed was the price for that item regardless of what the item was tagged priced at, they still could "give you" that discount off the item tag (they had a very healthy profit margin) but of course could not be considered a Falang price, they were not picky at who they cheated, as one could say "An equal opportunity discriminator"

Cheers:.

When the twins are born, guess who's going to be sleeping on a bamboo mat on the floor?
