212traders
Can anyone recommend a USB WiFi for Ubuntu? Where can I buy it? Also, which service is better: True, AIS, 3BB, dTac? I live in Chiang Mai (near Chiang Mai university). Edited November 27, 2013 by 212traders
dave_boo
I live in Nakhon Sawan and for that area True has served me best compared to AIS. It also seems to keep out of EDGE and in 3G better in other areas also. I do know that this aircard works with Linux. You do have to let it 'settle' down when first plugged in as it initially identifies itself as a cd drive and then Network Manager flips it over into modem mode. You can buy them all over everywhere; look for any old phone shop in a Big C to find them. To be honest, taking a laptop along and plugging a card in, wait a couple of minutes and see if your network manager (or a dmesg | tail) lists it is probably the best bet.
