Bangkok - Cambodia 30 day Visa

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a reliable, quick, comfortable company as they all seem to cost around the 2000 baht mark.

I would usually go on my own from MorChit but I am feeling pretty lazy.

Many thanks,

angsta::

Well it was 1900 from Pattaya 5 years ago so given inflation etc., possibly 2000 is the going rate?

train to aryan 58 baht, tuk tuk to border 50 baht, walk to immigration

Cambodian visa $20

bus back in afternoon to Bangkok

Thank you Richard. When I don't have a Non-B then doing the run myself is not an issue and I would go to Laos however I have commitments next week and want 30 days therefore I and would prefer just to sit on a bus and give someone 2k and not have to face Poipet personally. Jacks Golf? Any other options? Are they all basically the same??

I think Jacks Golf has been resurrected by some of his former staff?

Thaivisarun? Ok, I will check it out.

Usually I have long term visas or I am not based in Bangkok hence the question.

Thaivisarun isn't bad, but they leave at 930 in the morning and it takes an entire day to get to baan lam and back and gets back during rush hour. It also includes lunch, whihc you will eat on the bus. One tip though, when at the border don't leave anything on the bus as somebody had something stolen last time i went and we ended up having to stop at a police station and had our bags searched although most of us were fairly confident it was the child beggars that live at the border.

Air Asia / or perhaps Bangkok Air can get you up to Udon Thani in an hour. From there, just take a bus for 60 baht to Nong Khai. Can fly back to Bangkok in the afternoon.......but hey.....stop for a beer in Udon or Nong Khai.......... Bangkok sucks now.

I saw deals for Bangkok Air for 500 baht. (1000/r/t/) . I do not know when you are going, but what a happy, quick trip.

There are lots of vans taking people to Aranyapratet, Cambodia in Lotus Onnuch.

If I was flying I would want to spend more time out of Thailand but I really need to just use a day. Bus from Suk just which company. I want to leave early circa 4am.

Consider B.B.T.S., website: http://bestbangkokvisarun.com

Leaves Sukhumvit Soi 12 (the Korean Center) every day (except around New Years) at 05:00, spends around 90 minutes at Poipet for breakfast 08:30-10:00, returns to BKK 14:30 daily. 2200 baht for most Western passports. Normally one or two 10-passenger vans, three if it's a very busy day. No clapped-out buses. Safe drivers. Decent breakfast buffet food.

To clear up any confusion, the director of B.B.T.S. is called Tanya. She was an employee of Jack's Golf who had the temerity to expect her paychecks on time and in full... While Jack was self-destructing, she found financing and went into direct competition with him starting up her own tour and travel firm and putting in her own office three doors down. That put the final nail in Jack's coffin. Jack's old company has nothing at all to do with B.B.T.S. Tanya did not "take over Jack's Golf" or anything like that. This distinction is important because of liability issues left behind by Jack. B.B.T.S. is a wholly separate company with different investors.

Disclosure: I do not work for B.B.T.S. but I do use their services and consider Tanya a friend.

Edit: Seems that website is down for repairs. The alternate site is bangkokbuddy.com (B.B.T.S. is Bangkok Buddy Travel Service).

with your time requirements Bangkok Buddy will meet yor needs at 2,200Bt fee.

You would achieve the same by going on your own via train & returning by bus or a minvan if minimal cost is a concern ...

I highly recommend Bankok Buddy Travel. I made a visa run from Bangkok to Cambodia on November 7. This company was the first I saw that was aware of the new 30 day change for G7 country citizens using land crossings. This company was great. You can pay in advance or just text or email her and they will have the paperwork ready for you at their departure point. They leave at about 5 AM from the Koreatown little plaza, right on Sukhimvit between the Nana and Ekamai BTS stations. Nice new mini vans. All seats had seatbelts. Went to Poipet. Had free food a one of the casinos there then went back. They will make an effort drop you off along the way if it is convenient for you, say at one of the BTS stops. Tanya is a sweetheart. Her english is very good.

On a related note, last week I was up in Korat and I texted her for help. I needed the Thai word for zoo. She answered right back.
