Where to buy good quality (copper shield) RG58 coaxial cable (50 ohm)?

Featured Replies

Most RG58 cable seems to have just a few strands of aluminium shield - totally useless as the shield and you can't easily solder to aluminium....

'Proper' RG58 has a thick copper shield :)

Is there a cable/wire shop in Pattaya? Thanks!

Give it a try here. I am not 100% sure.

Thanks, but that is not a shop in Pattaya, and I always prefer to visit in person and check the goods with my eyes and sense of touch :)

Amorn?

Amorn is gone from Pattaya.

There are 2 electronic shops on Theprasit road.

Try Megahome on Sukhumvit. They have a very comprehensive electrical area on the right as you go in the main door.

I am amazed some believe it is still there........!

I get cable from Homepro, DoHome out on Suk near Laem Chabang might have better quality.

Pornthip (or similar name) on Pattaya Nua about 200 meters before Sukhumvit - immediately after the entrance to the bus station.

Electrical supplies shop selling retail and more trade so may have your 'enhanced' co ax.

There are 2 other smaller electrical supply shops on the other side but about 400 meters or so further up towards the junction with the top of 3rd Road.

Yes it is mostly on-line now like everything else. But they are still actively in business.

@simon43 like me likes to touch stuff before he buys. Although not always achievable.

If you are being offered RG58 which is not 50 ohm then it isn't RG58

If I need a really specalized high tech gear that easy to carry, not to bulky, I would definately try to have it bought in from abroad by a friend or family comming over.
