David48 Posted May 11, 2014 Share Posted May 11, 2014 Rons response is a little subdued this morning.Had a fall on the motorbike last night. I was out past the houses among open paddies all set tripod and all up to catch the sun setting when I got a phone call to tell me that a brother in-law (same age as I) had fallen 6 meters from a Tamarind tree. I quickly packed up (the sunset was almost at the stage of taking a worthwhile shot) and headed back towards his place along a rutted and potholed gravel road.I wasn't going all that fast but maybe a little faster than I should have when a small esky in the basket bounced out and dumb me turned around to look and the rest is history. Skin off every where,blood every where and a very sore (bruised)thigh.Woke up this morning sore in places I didn't know existed. Tripod is in two pieces and I haven't checked out the camera as yet but the lens cover is missing went back to find it but was too dark and couldn't find it. Anyway,the brother in-law doesn't look to good with a serious knee injury,can't walk and they didn't even take him to a hospital for an xray but took him to some quack who uses herbs and spices and all things suspect. Ron19 Posted May 11, 2014 Share Posted May 11, 2014 Thanks for your concern,I've pulled up fine and there's no long term damage thankfully.It was a very slow fall on a gravel road and only resulted in a bit of bark off and an internal thigh bruise that was a worry for awhile.The brother in-law is not so lucky with a serious knee injury which may have permanent damage.He still cannot walk unaided.
