MichaelJackson
Like most things, depends what, how much, and IF you get caught. I think you already know the official answer.
CharlieH
Is it really that important and worth the hassle if you get caught ? For some Veg!

roamer
Fresh lime leaves are banned by Defra. However I think a self imposed ban on exports from Thailand is still in place. It was imposed by the Thai government in 2011 after the EU threatened a ban on Thai vegetables due to high pesticide levels. I have not heard of it being lifted and I doubt that the pesticide levels have declined sufficiently to allow it to be done. Items like Holy Basil available in the UK now nearly always appear to be grown in Cambodia. Doesn't affect peelable fruit. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2011/01/27/opinion/EU-health-warning-is-also-for-Thai-consumers-sake-30147249.html
