metice
I saw an article in the Phuket News saying there are going to be changes to the non-immigrant visas that volunteers have if working for a foundation or charity. This would involve applying for an extension every 90 days (and paying the 1,900 Baht fee). Any truth in this? I haven't been able to find out anything else. ubonjoe
There are already some volunteers only getting 90 day extensions at other places. This is being done because some people were getting the one year extension and not doing any work after that.
Mario2008
That is actually already the rule for some years now, nothing new. People volunteering for a registered charity can get extensions of stay of 90 days at a time for 1,900 baht. Only if the application is supported by a high ranking government official is it possible to get an extension for 1 year.
