retirement 800,000 baht bank balance

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone out there on a retirement visa has ever tried to get a 1 year retirement visa showing cummulative 800,000 baht in accounts from multiple bank instead of only one bank account?

As an example could I show bank guarantee of deposit of 300,000 baht in siam bank and another 300,000 from Bangkok bank and a third 200,000 from Kasikorn bank?

thanks to anyone in advance to anyone who can share such an experience - Jason

Provided you have the required letters from each bank and the account is in your name and seasoned for the required time on all accounts I see no problem. The experts will jump in shortly no doubt.

You can have multiple accounts. It would require a bank letter from each bank. Also a bank book update on same date as application. All accounts would have to be maintained at a minimum balance for 90 days (60 days if first application) needed to keep the total 800k balance.

I've shown two accounts with two letters in the past.....no problem.

You'll have to pay for a letter from each bank but don't see a problem, although why would you want to have such small amounts in three different accounts? Not being a "sticky-beak", just curious.

Just out of curiosity, is there any advantage to having multiple bank accounts? Seems like a lot of unnecessary overhead.

An advantage doubtful. But there may good personal reasons such as transitioning to Bangok Bank for Americans for their ACH scheme.
