‘Tavorn’ assures protestors will not invade government offices while heading to Government House

BANGKOK, 9 December 2013 (NNT) — Former Democrat Party member Tavorn Senniam has assured that protesters and their core-leaders will not besiege any of the government offices while heading to Government House.


With 9 routes being announced for the march to Government House, Mr. Tavorn has assured that protesters will not take over any of the government offices while heading to Government House.

He went on to urge government officials and the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) to be vigilant and prevent any third-party attacks that may cause disarray.

100,000 people join Thai opposition protests: police

BANGKOK, December 9, 2013 (AFP) - Around 100,000 people took to the streets of the Thai capital on Monday seeking to topple the government, police estimated, despite the prime minister's decision to call snap elections.


"Turnout at 10.30 am (0330 GMT) is estimated at 100,000," said a police official at the Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order, which was set up to deal with the unrest.

Democrats still undecided about election: Jurin

BANGKOK: -- Former opposition cheif whip Jurin Laksanawisit said on Monday that his Democrat party has not discussed whether they will run in the next election after PM Yingluck Shinawatra dissolved the House this morning.


He said, however, it remains to be seen if Yingluck will respond to the demand of the anti-government protesters to resign from care-taking post.

Pheu Thai ready to contest snap election: Charupong

BANGKOK: -- Interior Minister and Pheu Thai leader Charupong Ruangsuwan was quoted on party's facebook Monday that his party is ready for the next election.


He said Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra had returned power to the people so the protesters should stop putting pressure on the government.

He reaffirmed that his Cabinet will continue the caretaking role and will do everything in accordance with the Constitution.
