Are retirees moving to the new DTV visa - anybody done it?
(1) The "easier road to Thai citizenship" is not for the likes of us. It's only for people from neighbouring countries and the like. See https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2024/10/31/ministry-of-interior-clarifies-new-citizenship-measure-not-aimed-at-expats-but-stateless-people/ (2) Speculation about the requirement to file income tax forms appears to be based upon an old article. https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2024/09/08/revenue-department-preparing-legislation-as-new-expat-tax-regime-may-link-visas-and-tax-returns/ -

How does a Thai citizen get a tourist Visa to the USA?
Well that may be true, and previous applications may have been 'airbrushed' by the applicant. But a B2 is subjective, whereas an immigrant visa is objective. Tick the boxes and it's a done deal. A B2 doesn't require a background check as an immigrant visa does, so a B2 really comes down to the judgment of the CO, which again gets back to that subjective 'feeling' of the CO about the applicant Like it or not given the number of Thai's in the US who overstay I get it -

Thaksin Visits PM Paetongtarn After Throat Infection Hospitalisation
Picture courtesy: Daily News Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra visited his daughter, current Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, on the evening of 31 October following her brief hospitalisation for a throat infection. Earlier that day, Paetongtarn had taken medical leave after doctors diagnosed a bacterial infection that caused bronchial inflammation and hoarseness. Paetongtarn shared a video of her father’s visit on her Instagram Story, captioning it with a lighthearted message that read, “Youngest daughter falls ill, Dad rushes over, bringing dinner along - cutest ever! Thanks, Dad!” The clip and caption sparked warmth and support from followers, who were quick to wish her a swift recovery. The visit highlights Thaksin's close bond with his family, especially his daughter, who has taken on a prominent role in Thailand’s political sphere, reported Daily News. While Paetongtarn recovers, supporters are hoping for her prompt return to her duties, with her father's presence providing comfort during this brief setback. -- 2024-11-01 -

Why are Thai women bigger in 2024?
I know it am not sure how many of these posters have much experience in Thailand. Apart from the massive increase of Coke Cola while dining and KFC getting fairly popular, generally Thai people are eating roughly the same as they were decades ago. The main changes are more people have vehicles now, grab deliveries, more electronic apparatus for domestic chores and people generally have more expendable cash.
