iPod Nano in Pattaya?

Featured Replies

My very old iPod died. I liked to use it to listen to podcasts when going for morning walks. I can use my iPad or Desktop to listen to the podcasts at home, but they'd be a bit cumbersome for walks on Beach Road.

So I decided to get an iPod Nano. Went to Powerbuy at Tukcom. Did not have.

I thought there was an authorized Apple dealer at Tukcom, but didn't see it so figured I'd go to Powerbuy at Central Festival. Out of stock.

Went to the Apple Store at Central Festival. Sold out there too.

Anyone seen them for sale in Pattaya. Not sure if this is some wide-spread shortage or I'm just looking in the wrong places.

Thanks

You do know that podcasts can be downloaded to and listened from many devices other that iPods right? Like from any smart phone. If you have your heart set on a new iPod, I saw some on display at the Sukie Numchai a couple days ago and there is also the official Apple Thailand online store.

Vaguely aware that I could use something else, but assumed to get brain-free synching I would need to use Apple. Don't have a smart phone. Maybe I'll give Numchai a look and then consider alternatives.

Pop into the Power Buy just up from Foodland as well while you're in the area as they stock apple products as well.

Well I checked out the Apple Thailand online store. I assumed it would be a hassle especially with US credit card information versus a Thai shipping address, among other things.

But, I signed in using my US Apple iTunes ID and everything including my current credit card info and US billing address popped up. The Nano I wanted was available and ready for shipping, ETA the 16th. So I filled in the shipping address and ... I guess ... voila. It certainly seemed pretty painless and hassle-free.

Sometimes there are simple solutions to problems ... I hope.

Now I won't have that excuse for skipping the morning walk.

Thanks

Just received invoice and shipping notice. I assume the Thai Apple Store was some storage facility in Thailand from which things would be shipped.

Turns out the iPod is being sent by UPS from Singapore.

Yes, the Thai Apple Store online orders ship from Singapore. Glad you had positive online shopping experience...people always posting in where to buy this or that Apple product in Pattaya...if one lives in LOS, I always advise just to buy online. Free shipping too and same prices as at any official Apple Store.

Ipod touch is better.

Ipod touch is better.

How do you know...it depends on the intended use. Maybe the tiny form factor of the nano fits his use during walks and maybe all the op wants is to listen to podcasts and music. The Touch would be overkill for this and mush more expensive. Don't forget, we're dealing with someone without a smartphone and the Touch is basically one sans the radio antennas.
