When to go to Imigration for extension on 2x entry visa

Hi,I have a 2 month double entry visa from the USA.

I want to get a 30 day extension.

I was told i can go anytime to immigration for this 30 day extension,True?

or-do i go a day or 2 before 1st entry expires and they give me the extension from

the date i apply?

You can go anytime during the last 30 days of your current permission to stay. The 30 days will be added to your current permission to stay. If you have a double entry visa, make sure that you exit and return on or before the "must enter by" date on the visa as that is the date that it expires.
