LinkedIn goes Thai

LinkedIn is now available in Thai! Thai is the second local language feature that LinkedIn has launched in Asia Pacific this year, following the launch of Tagalog in June. The other Southeast Asian languages available on LinkedIn are Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Malaysia.

The launch of LinkedIn in Thai is part of our commitment, as a global professional network, to continue to help our members become more productive and successful in their professional lives.

Today, members in Thailand are part of a fast-growing cohort of more than eight million professionals who are using LinkedIn across Southeast Asia. It’s really exciting to see how many of our members are engaging on LinkedIn, building their professional brands, expanding their networks, sharing insights and creating economic opportunities for one another – not just locally, but across the globe.

In Thailand, our members work at more than 24,400 organizations, including leaders such as Chulalongkorn University, IBM, Thai Airways and True Corporation, and across key industries such as Hospitality, IT & Services, Oil & Energy and Higher Education.

If you’re a professional in Thailand, you can now sign up for LinkedIn in Thai. LinkedIn members who have been using the site in English can switch their language settings to Thai, should they wish to do so, by going HEREhttps://www.linkedin.com/settings/?tab=account&modal=nsettings-select-language

Linked In is an international business network where the everyday language and content is English. By offering dead business languages like Tagalog and Thai, Linked In is cannibalizing its value to pander to Tagalog and Thai preferences.

Linked In is like a virus. I signed up recently and somehow it just knew I knew all these people I'd long forgotten about and for good reason. Then the messages start and the "what are you doing now" begins. F-off !!!

Deleted the account.

Yes MJP....but I still use it occasionally so I'm still on it but rarely log in...say once every 6 months.

Now that it's gonna be in Thai I can envision all the escorts & hi-end hooks will be soliciting

services in due course. Just the same as Linkedin is being used in the "western world"...as a huge

singles bar. The professional likeness of it has long vanished....errrrr....changed meaning.

Can you imagine some of the CV's on there?!

As someone who dislikes FB and all similar sites, LinkedIn can be useful if you're still working as I am. Use what is useful, ignore what you don't like and periodically review and remove unwanted connections. Once I have finished in the workplace I will likely close my account - easy, nothing to get stressed about.

I'm not even a member, but always get their spam mails. I put them on my spam black-list now.

If you look very closely you'll see that those spam emails you've been getting are not actually from LinkedIn, the spammers would like you to think they are, just so you'll click on it and open one.

Yes I've had lots of spam 'LinkedIn' emails too. I absentmindedly opened one earlier this year and lost a lot of connections as a result, so do be careful, there's a virus/hacker out there somewhere. Some small minded w@#$%^s just don't have anything better to do than to screw up the lives of others who aren't doing them any harm.
