Economy Trump Confirms 36% Tariff on Thai Goods via Truth Social Post
Seems that some people on this forum are not aware that the US consumers are the ones picking up the final bill for these ludicrous tariffs by Trump's administration. What on earth is Trump thinking? Not to mention the fact that countries worldwide will shift their focus towards trading more with Europe and China instead. In both cases, USA will stand behind as the loser in this war on tariffs. -

Health Thailand Records 40 Monkeypox Cases in 2025, Government Urges Vigilance & Safe Practices
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. The government has stepped up monitoring efforts after health authorities confirmed 40 cumulative cases of monkeypox (mpox) so far in 2025, while reminding the public, particularly high-risk groups, to remain vigilant and take preventive measures. According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Mr. Anukool Pruksanusak, the Department of Disease Control (DDC) under the Ministry of Public Health has reported that this year’s monkeypox situation is less severe than in previous years, with no signs of widespread outbreaks. In 2024, Thailand reported 176 cases, down from 676 in 2023. The total number of monkeypox-related deaths stands at 13 since the disease was first detected in the country. Although case numbers are falling, authorities remain concerned about infections among high-risk groups and the possibility of more virulent strains entering from abroad. The government has ordered close surveillance, especially at points of entry into the country. Mr. Anukool stressed the importance of prevention, particularly in sexual encounters. “Using condoms can significantly reduce the risk of monkeypox transmission, along with other sexually transmitted infections such as HIV and syphilis,” he said, noting a recent rise in syphilis cases. The government has issued five key recommendations to help the public prevent monkeypox infection: 1. Avoid close contact with individuals who have visible skin rashes or lesions. 2. Exercise caution during sexual activity, especially with unfamiliar partners. 3. Maintain personal hygiene, including regular hand washing with soap or alcohol-based sanitiser. 4. Do not share personal items such as towels, razors, or clothing. 5. Seek medical screening if returning from countries with higher prevalence, especially Central and East Africa or the Middle East. Though the strain currently circulating in Thailand is not considered highly virulent, officials stress that prevention and early detection remain key to controlling the disease. Dead or alive thingy
A process with multiple single point failures is a high risk process. You may choose to ignore it; I choose to be cognizant of it. The termination of my benefit without warning because of a process fault is not something to be treated as being something akin to being a danger arising without warning. In the case of the 7162 form the risks are readily known and have been experienced. -

Crime 19-Year-Old Arrested in Pattaya for Carrying Homemade 9mm Gun & Ammunition
Picture courtesy of Kaoded. A 19-year-old man was arrested early morning in Pattaya after police found him carrying a homemade 9mm firearm loaded with ammunition, reportedly while waiting to confront a rival group. At around 03:00 on 12 July, police at Pattaya City Station received reports of a noisy gathering of youths at the public park in front of the Meteorological Department building on Khao Phra Tamnak Hill, Pattaya. Police, led by Lt. Col. Enak Sarathongyu, dispatched officers including Deputy Inspector Sgt. Kittisak Sutthinithatsawong to investigate. Upon arrival, they found over 20 youths aged between 15 and 25 congregating. During a search of motorcycles and individuals, one suspect attempted to flee but was quickly stopped. The suspect, identified as Mr. Yod, 19, was found carrying a black shoulder bag containing a homemade firearm, one 9mm cartridge loaded in the pistol, an additional 9mm bullet and a folding knife. During questioning, Mr. Witawat Pukyod stated that he and his friends had been out riding before encountering a rival group. Fearing trouble, he retrieved the homemade gun he had purchased some time ago for self-defence. However, before any confrontation occurred, police arrived and arrested him. Authorities have documented the suspect’s details and are continuing their investigation. Mr. Yod faces charges related to unlawful possession of firearms and will be prosecuted according to the law. This incident highlights ongoing concerns over youth violence and illegal firearms in the Pattaya area, prompting calls for increased policing and community vigilance.
