1 day speed boat itinerary

Featured Replies

I have a speed boat available for one day and am wondering if any of the fellow Thai visa mambers know of any amazing itineraries in and around Phuket. I don't particularly want to go to tourist packed spots like coral island and was thinking of stopping somewhere with no people at all for a lunch time bbq. Any suggestions to help me plan my route would be appreciated.

Head north towards Phang Nga Bay, and take the channel between Koh Yao Yai and Koh Yao Noi. When you get to the eastern sides of the islands, there's a small island that has a good sandy beach, some trees for shade, and invariably nothing else. You might get the odd small boat or longtail from Krabi, but that's it. After lunch head to Koh Hong, anchor off in some excellent clear water for snorkelling, and then take the same route back.

If you don't want to BBQ, then there a couple of hotels on the eastern side of Koh Yao Noi where you can get into for lunch (Paradise Beach has it's own small jetty, but beware the tide times!).

There looks to be quite a few small islands on that east side near Koh Hong....can you identify it? Thanks

Apologies for the delay in responding.

It's Ko Nok, just east of the channel, and a couple of miles from the main cluster of islands. There's a decent area of beach that's quite shallow and sandy on the west side to bring a boat into. There's shaded areas to have a picnic, and you might see some of the monitor lizards that I see every time there.

For snorkelling, anchor off the north side of Koh Hong, great clear water.
