Been reading about it the last few days , using the "dark net" through TOR and the .onion sites.

There obviosly seems to be alot of weird crap out there and things like silk road .

But beyond the headlines what exsists ?

Thought as much , but by all accounts the surface web through standard search engines accounts so they say accounts for less than 1 percent of the total web with the "dark" net accounting for the other 99% .

Surely it cant all be sick stuff ?

The Guardian has recently run a lot of stories with guides to Tor, which operates for people who prefer to retain privacy. It's not designed for the criminal element although some will probably opt for it.

ergo if whistleblowers weren't using Tor and the deepweb they would be okay too? Cause they would be imprisoned or dead

The Pirate Bay is also helping people in European countries where their website is restricted or blocked to still access torrents with the Pirate browser using the TOR network.

interesting to say the least

i am no fan of censorship so i HAD to go check it out

also i beleive, and i could be wrong, if someone (they) want to track you

i would not depend on tor or other tools
