OMGImInPattaya
What's the best way to clean interior walls of general house-born grease, dust, and dirt before priming and painting? In the States, I would use a general degreaser like TSP (tri-sodium phosphate) but have not been able to find this in Thailand. When I ask at the painting Dept's of the major DIY stores what they have to clean the walls before painting they uniformly say they have nothing. Sometimes they point me to anto-mold cleansers for exterior walls. What do you guys use...either a commercial product or dilution of a home based cleaner (I.e., windex, etc.)? PS: I guess Thais never clean the walls before painting...explains all the peeling paint jobs I see everywhere!
bankruatsteve
We just use whatever household cleaning product that has currently captured the wife's eye and/or pocketbook. These are usually from Macro or Tesco. Some are better than others for grease but along with water and a brush should give a good prep for painting. canman
Sugar soap is what you want which does contain TSP. Not sure what brand names are sold in Thailand.

isawasnake
Their paint peals because they just paint it on without primer. They are have a long long way to go before cleaning any walls before they paint.
