Use Visa on second entry

Featured Replies

Hi!

I will arrive in Bangkok by plane, go after 20 days to Malaysia and then I would like to stay for three months in Thailand again. Is it possible to have a Tourist-Visa and ask for the Visa on arrival?

Thank you guys!

It is possible to ask, but it is unlikely that it will be granted.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Ask at the airport? It's a bit risky sad.png

It's a crap shoot and up to the immigration officer! If you get the visa and he says no then you're out the $40. You can come without, get a 30 day visa exempt entry and apply for a visa when you are in Malaysia. If you do not get a visa the airline might require that you have a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days of arrival. If you are traveling to Malaysia and back by air with ticket in hand, no problem, but if by land it could be an issue.

You could get a re-entry permit at immigration that would keep your entry valid. Single re-entry is 1000baht. The next option is to get a 2 entry visa and use the 2nd entry when you return from Malaysia. Cost for 2nd entry would be about equal to the re-entry permit.
